Luke Dicken is the founder of Robot Overlord Games and sits on the Board of Directors for the International Game Developers Association.
Luke has been passionate about Artificial Intelligence since playing “Creatures” as a teenager, and pursued it through multiple degrees culminating in a PhD he is currently finishing focusing on new AI techniques for companion characters in games.
Luke is a member of the AI Game Programmers Guild and chair of the IGDA’s Special Interest Group on AI. He was named as one of Develop magazine’s “30 Under 30” for 2013, but hasn’t found a subtle way to work that into a bio.
By education Verena Riedl is an an urban planner. Through professional experiences a graphic designer, project manager & marketing strategist. It all comes together in Level and Game Design.
Before getting involved in the games industry Verena worked in advertising, marketing and event management, teaching and research, as a graphic designer, project manager, key account manager, marketing strategist, lecturer and researcher, art director and developer. Her educational background consists of studies in urban planning, communication science and sociology.
Verena’s design approach is highly influenced by all the different perspectives she was able to gain in her past professional and educational experiences. With Robot Overlord Games she focuses on art and design.
